Instructions for T9 device are located at the end of this article
1: Restart your hotspot
When hotspot comes back up, restart your Roku, Settings > System > Restart system
When Roku comes back up, Settings > Network > Set up connection
2: Change WiFi values
Following the
manual, page 20, set the unit to 2.4ghz only and set the WiFi channel to 1, hotspot will retest, try setting it up again.
You can also try channel #2 and test again, if those two do not work, then there is probably no reason to keep trying the others.
Set 802.11 mode to 802.11G or 802.11N
3: Change to IPv4 only
Following the
manual, page 23, APN
Goto edit on the right hand side and change IP to IPv4 (only, not IPv4v6)
Save, restart hotspot and try again.
If none of the steps above have resolved the issue, go ahead and factory reset your device, so it is back to the way it was when you received it.
4: Block Roku network pings
Then, fully power off your TV, (pull the cord) and turn it back on. Give it a try, if it still doesn't work, confirm the settings are saved by going back through those steps and it should show "enable" (Then, don't do anything except leave that menu).
5. Block extra MAC address listening
Access hotspot settings, Wi-Fi, then "Connected Devices" look for any devices named "*" or any device you do not recognize. Add those to "Blocked Devices" by choosing "Block", save and restart the hotspot. Test again.
For T9 Device:
Login with the password you previously created (or use "admin" if you've never set a password)
If you have forgotten the password, with the device powered on, hold down the reset button from under the battery cover area, until a message showing "resetting" appears on screen, then let go. The password will be reset back to "admin" (no quotes)
Click "add" then goto the new row created and enter the following:
Field Name: tmo
Field APN: fast.t-mobile.com
Field Username: (leave blank)
Field Passowrd: (leave blank)
Field Auth: None
Field PDP Type: IPv4
Press "OK" to the right
Then, click the circle to the right of the row you just created.
Finally, click "Save Changes" and you will then need to manually power the device off and back on.
Please report back how things work out. If you are still having trouble, the next step is to "forget" your device from your Roku and re-pair them.
