Network Management

Network Management

All plans feature NO throttling. Throttling is the practice of restricting data access to a slow, set amount. This is normally 128kbps (think dialup speeds). Since cellular data access is a shared, limited resource, all carriers have some sort of network management policy. This means that if you are on a congested tower, during peak times, your transfer requests will be queued behind users who are paying per GB or have not used their allotted GBs.

BLUE plan: This offering is identical to all of their unlimited plans, even their "grandfathered" data plans, in that after 22GB it is subject to "network management". This is not throttling.

PINK plan: After 50GB of usage, is subject to "network management". This is not throttling. This means that if you are on a congested tower, during peak times, your transfer requests will be queued behind users who are paying per GB or have not used their allotted GB.

RED plan: Uses optimization technologies across its 5G Nationwide and 4G LTE networks to transmit data files in a more efficient manner to allow available network capacity to benefit the greatest number of users. This includes video limit of 720p to 1080p.

We've tested all plans for years and have never experienced any significant slow downs.
A classic example of times you would expect network management to occur are: large festivals, NYC on New Year's night, but some large metropolitan cities may also have areas of congested towers and the towers will be unable to handle all users in the area.
