All plans feature NO throttling. Throttling is the practice of restricting data access to a slow, set amount.
I'm on an unlimited plan. Why did I receive a text about my data usage?
Carriers manages their network at certain times to ensure the majority of customers get a good experience. If you use more than 22/50GB of data during a billing cycle, your data usage continues, but it is deprioritized during times and in places where the network is constrained.
What is Quality of Service (QoS)?
Carriers employ QoS or network prioritization, for unlimited data customers using more than 22/50GB of data during a single billing cycle. QoS helps protect against the possibility of unlimited data plan customers occupying an unreasonable share of network resources. Impacted customers using more than 50GB are deprioritized at times and in places where the availability of network resources is constrained.
Does that mean unlimited data customers are limited to 22/50GB of data?
No. Impacted unlimited data customers can use unlimited amounts of data above and beyond the 22/50GB threshold, however, impacted customers may experience reduced speeds compared to other customers. Temporary reductions in performance only occur at times and in places where network capacity is constrained. No overage charges, data caps or full-time bandwidth reductions apply.
